I just built a PC and I ran a stress test on AIDA64 just to see if my temps were good even though I had a i3

During the test which I only ran for around 20 minutes my CPU hit a maximum of 94C and was hovering between 78-87C during most of the test which isn't good for a non OC CPU even if it's a Stock cooler

My GPU which I was hoping to overclock was around low 80s

Is this cause for concern? Did I incorrectly mount the cooler so that the thermal paste is working?

Should I not consider overclocking the GPU or should I not use this test?

Also my CPU didn't throttle during the test

check your thermal paste

you should be getting at most 80 degrees under load

if your GPU is around 80 degrees under load then you probably shouldnt overclock it

also check your fan setups. maybe there isnt any airflow in the case?

I thought it was probably the thermal paste

My case is a NZXT S340 with 2 exhausts and 2 intakes so I don't think airflow is a problem and I'm running a Sapphire 380 which is supposed to be really good

Right now my CPU is idling around 48C which is normal and the GPU is 56C which I think is normal as well.

my gpu runs around 30 degrees when idle

but mine is nvidia so i dont know much about amd cards

do some research to see the typical temperatures for your chips
