Might be stupid question but please help

50calsniper

I have a 2 way sli gpu setup and have a TV and monitor plugged in to each through hdmi. I know that the more devices I have hooked up the lower quality the picture is. I usually only use the TV with Netflix and my monitor I game on. So my question is if I have the TV off but still plugged in is it still using the gpu because it will still show up as a device even though it is off

It will still use gpu power, but if you just have your desktop on there, and nothing else you should see no difference in game performance. especially with an SLI setup.

Welcome to the Forums!

You can disable that extra screen space until you are playing movies on it, I have a similar setup where I disable the TV unless I'm watching movies or long episodes.

Not really true.

It'll still use GPU power, but to just display an empty desktop will not use up enough power to harm your performance at all. Nothing to worry about!
