My W10 search is really really slow. To the point it's easier to just go and search for the software myself. Am I doing something wrong. I will search for Run and it will just take forever and I give up on it every time.

Edit I have already done a clean install.

Edit if you go to your search index options it will not let you rebuild, this is because the search feature is not actually running at all. You will need to troubleshoot which will start it back up and then you can rebuild your index. Hopefully this gets fixed in an upcoming update. Hope I help anyone else. I don't know what caused it either.

Mine was slow too, but it indexed everything and now it's fine. But yeah, fresh install would solve all of the problems.

I am on a clean install. That is one of the reasons why I did a clean install after upgrading.

The indexing of my "fresh" SSD took a few moments, so check your idle-disk-usage. If it's still high, windows is still indexing things. And if you are using cortana, this might be the cause. Some users report problems with cortana, if the internet-connection has packetloss...

And if you are using a HDD it can easily take days to index it. The last time I used a HDD was with vista and it took almost two weeks (2-4hours a day) to index it.

It's on an SSD but I am indexing everything I have on my system at the moment. Cortana doesn't even activate on my system something about the region even though I am in the UK.
