Hello everyone - so I am looking to upgrade my current system (specs below) andI have roughly $500- $700 to spend. I already have the RAM and CPU cooler, but everything else could be replaced. It would help me a lot if someone could give me a list of parts (CPU, mobo, GPU, SSD, and monitor).

CPU: AMD Athlon X4 750K @ 5.0 GHz

Mobo: MSI A88X-G45 Gaming

RAM: Corsair Vengeance 16GB 1600 MHz

Storage: Hitachi 1TB HDD

GPU: Asus GTX 760 DC2OC

PSU: Corsair CX500M

Thanks for the help ;)

FYI, if I could, I would select my parts all over again. I went way too bang-for-the-buck.

Current System: CPU: Intel i7 4790K 4.6 GHz @ 1.28 volts | Motherboard: MSI Z97S SLI Krait Edition | RAM: Corsair Vengeance 16GB 1600 MHz + G.Skill Ripjaws 8GB 1866 MHz (Total RAM: 24GB) | Cooling: Corsair H100i | GPU: Zotac GTX 1070 AMP! | Storage: WD Black 1TB + Samsung 960 EVO 500GB + SanDisk 500GB SSD + WD Blue 4TB + Seagate 2TB External + Rosewill 3TB External | PSU: Corsair RM850x | Case: NZXT S340 Elite

Planned Upgrades: No idea

What kind of dollars are you using?

What's the system used for and where is performance lacking? What kind of display are you currently using?

That's a nice oc you've got there.

Yeah, I was thinking about that, but I don't think that the 500W PSU will be enough for that...

U.S. dollars. In my room, I have a 4k TV and was planning to do light 4k gaming. At my desk downstairs, I would have a 1080p monitor for heavy gaming.

Ok - thanks for the help. However, I was looking to overclock, so with your build, I don't think that would be an option.

So you move your system between floors?

I forgot to ask-- what case and cooler are you using?

Sorry about that!

Right now, my system is in my room. I just use it on the 4k TV. The 1080p monitor is part of the upgrade. I was thinking of mainly keeping the system at my desk, and rarely moving it upstairs. My case is the NZXT S340 and I have a Corsair H100i.

So why upgrade?

Besides the ssd, are you lacking in performance somewhere?

A lot in most games. My GPU isn't powerful enough to play most games (i.e. Battlefield 4, Crysis 3, Tomb Raider, etc.) My main question is: should I get an Intel 750 400GB PCIe SSD, or get a GTX 970 and a Samsung 850 Evo 250GB SSD? Or get a 4690K and a 850 Evo?

Normally, i would say 970 and evo, but in this case the 970 would be bottlenecked by the athlon.

So, you should better get the 4690k and a 850 a z97  mobo, because in most games the cpu is bolding you back.

Also if u upgrade the cpu, start looking for a better psu, because the CX series suck are  meant for basic use, not for gaming/overclocking

The site has changed....

Normally I would agree with you. However, many games require fewer faster cores. At 5.0 GHz, I think I should be fine.

All in all, I think I'm going to go with the GTX 970 Strix and the 850 Evo.

Thanks for your help, everyone! :)
