Okay I like using my regular gaming mice but I've always wondered if I could use a trackball for my mouse. I really like the old track ball I had in the old days and the limited space on my desk would make the use of a trackball it very useful. If it is usable for gaming can someone recommend the best one?

A friend of mine suffered from quite bad wrist injuries some years back, and uses a trackball most of the time on the computer. However, for most games, whenever possible he uses a controller, since it requires less wrist movement from him.

As for what trackball...I honestly couldn't tell you. I don't know what he uses, but many of them I imagine can be used in games. I don't really see why they can't, at least.

Would take a lot of getting used to, gaming with a track ball..

Would it be as good as a gaming mouse in terms of like response time? Like would it match what a gaming mouses DPI is? I use to be a console gamer so the only moving my thumb is very second nature to me. Just feel like I could get more percision with a track ball then a mouse.

I'm not too sure actually, I don't know much about track balls. Mice and them are alike though, with instead of it tracking movement on the table it tracks the ball movement. So I think if you find a good high quality one, it should be alike a mouse. But I recommend you do research on the different kinds and how fast the response times are, and then pick what you like :)
