Narrowing Down Laptop Options

SupernovaX360A

Hi guys,

Soooo I posted this thread earlier and just realised I accidentally posted it in Mobile Gaming instead of Mobile Devices, so I'll post it here too as it seems there are way more people that give laptop advice here.

I made a post here the other month but ended up upgrading my PC and holding off until my next payday to get a laptop.

After looking around for a while the main two which have caught my eye are the MSI GS60 series and the Asus G551 series.

There are tons of slightly different versions all over the place and I'll quickly post a few that I found.

I definitely prefer the look of the MSI laptops and they're also noticeably lighter, but after looking through reviews it seems they become extremely hot after short periods of gaming.

I'm looking for a light laptop with an SSD and a good graphics card which is also visually appealing (if possible). Whilst it is supposed to be purely a laptop for doing University work, I will ideally be gaming on it too - some MMORPGs but also newer AAA titles from time to time.

Any other suggestions are welcome too. Budget is ~£1000 but slightly less is obviously better!

I've started looking into it more and apparently the ASUS laptop also gets very hot and loud under load.

I'm looking more into different options aswell now but I really can't decide. I haven't owned a laptop in close to 10 years so I'm completely out of touch with them.

Reviews for the Lenovo Y50 seem good, but newer models with better graphics cards seem relatively difficult to find in the UK.

I'm also considering something like the ASUS G750, a larger laptop but with much better cooling. http://www.saveonlaptops.co.uk/G750JS-T4069H-ASUS-G750JS-T4069H_1552195.html?gclid=CjwKEAjw3PGtBRCWgajpu_uY9hYSJAAICRalI131Q7ij-vgRSzWLm3Jg0RF91-1RmFjwWH6wKd2OmhoCG9_w_wcB

Then there is the MSI GS70's, the red version comes in at ~£1k with a 965m and great specs all round. I'm not certain about the colour though and the silver version is £100 more, I can't find any of the black version for even close to £1000. http://www.saveonlaptops.co.uk/9S7-177316-412-MSI-GS70-2QD-(Stealth)-412UK-in-Red_1733194.html

I then heard about the Clevo laptops and made a build of the N150SD on their website. It came out at £898 with a 960m, 1080p IPS display, both a 120gb SSD and 1tb HDD and 8gb RAM. I've not seen much in the way of reviews of Clevo laptops though so I'm unsure I'd want to spend so much on a brand I haven't heard of before.  http://www.pcspecialist.co.uk/notebooks/7179/

Any other ideas, guys? :)
