You can try using a 3.5mm male-to-male cable from your laptop's audio out to your desktop's microphone in.

Then you can use this free software to listen to that microphone in jack in real time: http://vb-audio.pagesperso-orange.fr/Voicemeeter/

There is a noticeable slight delay, but I found it manageable when playing Halo: MCC on my Xbox One while Skyping with my buds on desktop. (I used my monitor's audio out as my audio out)

If you have a Line In port, you should be able to listen to it directly without a mixer.

So you want to play sounds from your laptop through your dektop?

You could always get a normal Jack-to-Jack cable, and conenct them that way. You just need to plug it into the headphone port on your laptop and into the line-in on your desktop.

This should give you sound with very minimal delay.
