i want to get a pentium g3258 and wanted to know if i could use the stock cooler

Yes you most definitely can. That chip doesent run much hot so you should be able to get it to 4.0GHz minimum with stock cooler. Usualy people can get it to 4.2GHz average with the stock cooler.

I can confirm that I was personally able to run 4.2GHz on my stock cooler without getting too toasty.

Me too. 57c @ 4.2. Leaves room for higher clock but the fan will start screaming at you

Heh, I just left mine at 100% all the time since I couldn't even hear it over my EVGA PSU. And to think, now that I have a CX750M, I changed the apparently noisy Hyper 212 EVO fan out for an NZXT fan and bought a TwinFrozr III cooler to replace the stock and crappy Double Dissipation cooler that came on my card.
