What will you be doing with the PC this will be used in?

Gaming - 4690K is all you really need

Anything more than gaming - 4790K will pull ahead cuz HT

Gaming - They'll be very similar. The i7 will pull ahead slightly due to the higher clock speed, but that can be countered as the HT of the i7 will produce extra heat, so the i5 could slightly pull ahead in overclocking.

 

Anything that loves threads - i7 due to the HT
