So, I may have made a post about this early, but it has now evolved into a whole new issue.

I'll start from the beginning.

So, the other day I decided to install Windows 8 pro (free upgrade to Windows 8.1) which was provided by my friend who had an extra key.

Now, I got all the way to the part of the install where you select your color and stuff after the PC has restarted. Only problem was my M+K weren't compatible.

Fast forward to yesterday, got a logitech M+k set for 20$. Tried to go an install, when I launched the setup from my USB it couldn't initiliaze.

So I reformatted the USB and put the installer files back on it.

Now I got farther, all the way to the part where it says "your computer will restart" n stuff.

Then this pops up, at 29% install, every time.

I'm at a loss on what to do here.

List of things I've tried already

-Turning it on and off again

-ReDownloading and installing the installer files

-Switching USB sticks

-Booting from the USB (more on this in a sec)

Specs:

4770k

GTX 780

MSi GD65 Gaming

Install drive is a samsung 840 evo

So, now more on the "booting from USB option".

When I tried to boot from the USB all went well, until about 45 seconds into the install that is.

I got a BSOD during the install.

For clarification, I have not tried the new USB stick with the boot from usb selection yet.

Quite frankly, I don't have time.

Any help would be greatly appreciated :^)

Any questions, just ask!

Someone told Luke and Linus at CES 2017 to "Unban the legend known as Jerakl" and that's about all I've got going for me. (It didn't work)

Not sure, but maybe try switching USB ports? unlikely but if you have the time you might want to try it.

Question - can you have a corrupted file on USB?

Get a Windows 8 ISO and just do a clean install; make sure you have backed up all your files.

To all people saying clean install,

I'd then have to redouble as gta v, a lot of shortcuts would probably end up broken.

That's my last choice. Would prefer to explore possibilities first. Don't want to have to spend a weekend downloading a game.
