After looking into it more I think I'll get two 980ti. I will definitely turn antialiasing off. I have heard a lot of people say the same thing about it being unnecessary at such high resolutions.

If you are going for 2 cards, AMD's Crossfire scales better than SLI and something like 2 Fury X's will perform better than most else at 4k. But if you plan to overclock, the 980ti will be better.

why would I lie about something when you could just ask anyone with a 4k monitor and a 980ti the same thing..

youre basing your point off of a bench mark.. not real life situations. benchmarks always crank up AA so it's fair across all resolutions.

you don't need AA at 4k so the test isn't a real world situation.

I have said components and can test it for myself.. I could probably find you a benchmark that says a pentium 1 processor can run gta v.. just because it's in the Internet doesn't mean it's the truth... and makes it even worse when you Base an argument off that truth..

Chill Dude. Wasnt meant that serious :)

wouldnt bother, go 1440p, 4k on a single card at 60fps isnt possible on many games and 30fps is too low.

this guy has the magic statement.  He truly is right.

1. your eyes really will never see the difference of 4k and 1440p at the 2ft you sit from your monitor (on large TV's this is a different story)

2. 4k is extremely demanding for minimal gains

3. 1440p monitors are cheaper and much easier to run so your games will be like butter on max settings

.... nice made up information there..

I can max out every game I own at 4k with a 980ti and all Bar Rust (a not greatly optimised game) I can max tain a 6pfps average or higher...

seriously why do people on this forum comment on things they don't have..

do you have a 4k monitor and a top end gpu?? if yes feel free to comment.. if not.. stop posting bollocks..

OP the biggest killer at 4k is anti aliasing. turn it off in games and fps with greatly increase.

a 980ti or fury x is the sweet spot card for 4k :)

the benchmarks online you see of gpus struggling at 3k is because they're tested with AA turned on!

youre the one talking bollocks you fool, dont lie to us, everyone knows a single 980ti still isnt enough for 4k gaming at 60fps on every game.

anyone who thinks 4k is possible on every game at 60fps or more is a moron, its not possible, what you playing? counter strike, come back to me when you are playing crysis 3 at ultra 4k.

ask any of the true veterans on here and i bet you they all say 1440p is more sustainable than 4k.

exactly brah, who wants 4k at low when you could have 1440p  at max.

hes trying to boast that he has a 980ti when his parents probably paid for it, spoilt brat.

Specs are in my sig.  Running 980 Ti SLI.

Witcher 3 @ 4k with everything maxed out and all the NVidia crap turned on I average 50-60 FPS GSYNC on (50 FPS with dense foliage).  This is with AA turned off in game.  Only factory overclock with those numbers. I could turn off GSYNC and see what type of performance I get.

I have not tried it recently with the latest patch so I may have better performance.

I have a potato!

it's actually provable (with math and science) that the human eye can indeed see a difference between 2160p and 1440p, especially at close distances. I don't know why people still use this stupid argument when trying to argue against 2160p, it's like people who argue over fps limits of the human eye.
