Display issues! Help please? :D

Okay, so I picked up a monitor off someone, and it only has VGA (oddly). It's an acer, and a decent 16:9 monotor. About 19". But I needed something to replace an old 4:3 15" (the only monitor I had around). I have a GTX 260 in my PC, and it only has 2 DVI slots, but the motherboard has a VGA slot. I tried plugging the VGA into the monitor and it didn't get a signal, so I went in the BIOS and switched my display to the onboard VGA instead of the GPU, and now it works fine.

Problem is, now it's using the crummy intel chipset on the motherboard, and I can't load a single game.

Isn't there a way to use the VGA on the motherboard to display the screen, but still use the GPU as the graphics driver for games?

I'm aware of converter cables and such, and I can buy one, but it'll take a few weeks to get here from Amazon. No local computer stores around here unfortunately.

So I'm frusterated, and just want to play my games. Any ideas at all?
