I have been clearing out one of my SSDs but everytime I delete a game or file, the usage doesn't decrease. I have deleted like 50gbs worth of stuff but it still says my SSD is full. I have restarted my computer and completely uninstalled some things that I wanted off the drive. Please help.

I also just got windows 10 if that means anything

Maybe just cache thing. Have you tried using ccleaner and check if it cleans space

I have emptied the recycle bin and I have also done everything I can think of in CCleaner

lol at this thread. same as before.

We can't Benchmark like we used to, but we have our ways. One trick is to shove more GPUs in your computer. Like the time I needed to NV-Link, because I needed a higher HeavenBench score, so I did an SLI, which is what they called NV-Link back in the day. So, I decided to put two GPUs in my computer, which was the style at the time. Now, to add another GPU to your computer, costs a new PSU. Now in those days PSUs said OCZ on them, "Gimme 750W OCZs for an SLI" you'd say. Now where were we? Oh yeah, the important thing was that I had two GPUs in my rig, which was the style at the time! They didn't have RGB PSUs at the time, because of the war. The only thing you could get was those big green ones.

Trimming didn't clear anything for me. I deleted both 20gb games such as payday 2 and europa universalis IV. They are no where to be found on the SSD yet the space is still taken :/

Might be worth using WinDirStat to check if there are any files taking up that space, easy visual way to check around!

Can I delete the temporary windows files and old windows files with disk cleanup? would that be safe it would clear 20gb

As long as you have no plans to revert from 10 to a previous version yeah you can, but once they're gone you can't revert without a reinstall

Trim is not used in the way you're thinking of. While data on a drive may not be removed, the registers that point to the file are removed, freeing up space from the Operating System's perspective. Therefore, the amount of free space available should increase when "deleting data." Trim is also enabled by default in W7 and above.

Trim is only used to remove "stale" data on an SSD.
