That system won't pull much from the wall with that 970, but the EVGA 500B is just 3 dollars more so why not use it.

Or go with the stellar EVGA GS series. It's still a pretty high end 970, I wouldn't even buy the CX series if it was up to me. My friend has one in his 4690K GTX 970 rig and I start laughing because he thinks he's better at system building than me because he spent more money. Look who's laughing now, lol.

Change the card to an MSI R9 380 unless you're a hardcore Nvidia fanboy. It will perform much better than the 960.

This is the starting point.

z97 board, so when they are ready to upgrade, they wont have to buy a new board. They can just go from a 4460 to a 4690k or 4790k.

Samsung 850 evo, so they have a great SSD, not a mediocre one.

R9 380 is better than the 960.

s340 is a great case for the price, it hides cables well, and has a sick color scheme. (look it up)

you want at least a semi modular PSU, so you don't have a bunch of wires laying around in the case. the one i chose will also handle any upgrades later down the road.

7800X3D - MSI B650 MAG Tomahawk - 32GB 6000mhz CL30 - Gigabyte 3080 TI - 2TB NVME - 1000w PSU - ID Cooling 240mm AIO
