Installing windows from a USB 3.0 drive

Go to solution Solved by Sir Asvald,

I have heard a lot of buzz about USB 3.0 boot incompatibility. Is it true that I can't install windows like this, even if I put the thumbdrive in USB 2.0 port?

All my USB 2.0 ports are 4 gigs (not enough capacity) and installing from a DVD is out of the table too because I don't have an optical drive anymore (they ugly  :D).

Do I have to buy a USB 2.0 drive or will the 3.0 one do the trick?

Thanks. :)

Any USB will work. 2.0 or 3.0 won't make a difference.

I

All my USB 2.0 ports are 4 gigs

 This makes absolutely no sense.

Maybe an external optical  (connected via USB) drive is the way to go.
