Here is the link to my current build plan: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/MVPLNG

This will be my first gaming pc so any opinions/suggestions are appreciated. I am still unsure about the cpu cooler, maybe a cheaper air cooler? And monitors so any other ideas for a different monitor configuration are welcome seeing ad I have had very little actual hands on time with desktops in the past...

P.S. I would like to shave the price down to about 1600 if possible, Thanks :)

Are you going to be overclocking? And get this instead: http://pcpartpicker.com/part/gigabyte-video-card-gvr939g1gaming8gd. Will last longer, a bit better performance and will do better in high res gaming(if you chose to do so) and cheaper.

Video Card: MSI GeForce GTX 970 4GB Video Card  ($331.99 @ B&H)

Case: NZXT S340 (White) ATX Mid Tower Case  ($63.99 @ SuperBiiz)

I would do these changes. The GPU is cheaper and comes in black and white the the case looks similar but is cheaper slightly.

Unless you plan on doing some crazy overclocking, you really don't need water cooling. Most air coolers will do fine for that CPU.

Something like this or even going down to a Hyper 212 EVO would be fine as long as you watch your temps on the OC.

Fine you want the PSU tier list? Have the PSU tier list: https://linustechtips.com/main/topic/1116640-psu-tier-list-40-rev-103/

Here are some tips to save money:

Buy the coolermaster hyper 212 evo. You wont get a better overclock than with the liquid cooler, but you can still overclock it to like 4.2 ghz. (the extra ghz with the aio cooler wont make much difference in games) - you save 65$ here

dont buy the fans because you dont really NEED them - save 30$

Okay I guess I can drop the fans and replace the h100i with the Phanteks PH-TC12DX_BK.

As for graphics cards if msi has a white and black gtx 970 could someone please post a link to it, I cant seem to find it... And I am also open to the 390, but I dont know very much about it (il do some research comparing it to the 970.)

More suggestions welcomes :), I need more input lol, cant decide!

I could fit an 980ti in my budget, the 980 seems like its overpriced for what it is at this point... but that would mean cutting the ultrawide monitor... And seeing as the monitor the part you looked at I thought it a good idea to have a 144hz monitor for fps, and an nice ultra wide on the side for schoolwork, videos, and some gaming... i

If you think im wrong please tell me though, im worried the mismatched monitor config will suck so feel free to

BTW I was checking out the r9 390 (specifically the gigabyte.) And it looks like it is pretty much tied up fps wise with the gtx 970... Does the extra Vram make it more futureproof? Are the driver issues really a problem?

it beats the 970. it's not even strong enough to make use of 8gb of ram. i dont even know why they have it as 8gb. there's no way you could make use of all of that while having good performance. i'm using a 7950 asus amd card and i've had no problem with the latest amd drivers.

Does this seem like a good finalized list? Any last ideas?

yea that looks pretty nice.

If you really REALLY want to go all white and black. check out the Gigabyte 980 Ti and also look up the HoF Video Cards.
