What's your OC, temps, and voltage right now?

Case: NZXT Phantom PSU: EVGA G2 650w Motherboard: Asus Z97-Pro (Wifi-AC) CPU: 4690K @4.2ghz/1.2V Cooler: Noctua NH-D15 Ram: Kingston HyperX FURY 16GB 1866mhz GPU: Gigabyte G1 GTX970 Storage: (2x) WD Caviar Blue 1TB, Crucial MX100 256GB SSD, Samsung 840 SSD Wifi: TP Link WDN4800

Well.. it's a i5 760 so it's pretty old :P. It's at 4.0 now at 1.34V that's a hell of a lot compared to people getting 4.2 on 1.25V etc.

try lowering the voltage to 1.275

try lowering the voltage to 1.275

 

Yessssssss, that will help A LOT! Blue screens before even booting into Windows  -_-

looks like you lost the silicone lottery. Reduce your OC while keeping the voltage at 1.275

Why? The max safe is 1.4V

 

Do you want me to run the CPU at like 3.2 or something? I've run this cpu at 3.8 on 1.3V for months now, but I wanted to push it to 4.0

Some people even got 4.2

 

Remember this is a 1st gen quad core from 2011, overclocking was different back then  :D

 

Need to upgrade soon to Skylake!

im not sure for first gens but for haswell you want to stay at or under 1.3
