What CPU Cooler should i go for?

Go to solution Solved by tomas710,

Sorry i am posting a lot lately i have decided on the case, GPU, CPU ,Motherboard and ram

Now all that is left is the CPU Cooler. I will be using a Intel i7 5960x, I will probably not be overclocking it

It has to be 240m Radiator as i am following a video and that is what he is using

Some i had in mind

Corsair H100i GTX

Corsair H100i

Please overclock, you can get 4 GHz without any effort, it's an extreme edition CPU, i don't own one but im sure many people in the forum can tell you how to do a conservative overclock with very little effort

Corsair H100iGTX or the Cooler Master Nepton 240M. I'd actually suggest the CM just for it's silence and stealth factor, it's a great cooler.

First question, why not overclock it...? Second question, if not planning on OCing it, why pay 100+ for water cooling?

I assume because water cooling is just sweet! lol. But seriously, without planning on OCing it, it isn't really worth the money. But if you do want a beast of a cooler, the swiftech h240 or whatever is very nice! Its basically custom loop quality in a AIO. If not, I would go with a corsair unit, I guess the 100i GTX

Sorry, I meant H220, 240 is dual 140 fans.

H100i is an older model, they don't drop price until they are basically reliques, I would get a corsair H105 tho, performs a little better, and get aftermarket fans, if you are not overclocking you may as well go for silence

Is the H100i GTX better than the H100i as they are both the same price ?

Last I checked, the GTX was a few dollars cheaper than the regular H100i. I would guess that yes, the GTX would be a bit better in a few ways, plus it's a lot newer.

It's not much better performance wise, and both have corsair link, the GTX looks much nicer, but if are comparing performance and features, they are pretty much the same, guess corsair dropping the price would be addmiting they could have charged less all along, so they wait before so.

Do you think Corsair link is better than NZXT Cam?

Do you think Corsair link is better than NZXT Cam?

Being totally honest, i don't like either, i mean, i find them unnecesary, i can control my fans off my mobo and that's all i need. But there are no 240mm rad option from NZXT tho. I went with the corsair H105 because the rad it's thicker so a bit better performing than the H100i GTX, usually same price or cheaper and i rather have a few degrees better cooling than a piece of software i will barely use.
