Good day all,

EDIT I am in Canada and I pay 15% vat so 980ti is my whole budget

I  have around $1000.00 I could spend on an upgrade for my gaming rig.

I currently am running

4770k at stock

16gb ddr3 @1866

MSI gtx 770 2gb

samsung 840pro ssd

and the weak link in my setup which is an old syncmaster bx2450.

I am looking for input on where I should best spend the cash.

Options I am looking at are

1. sell my 770 for peanuts and buy a 980ti

this still leaves me with a crappy old monitor.

2. Keep my 770 and buy a new monitor.

3.save my money and make the jump to newer gpu and monitor when the next series of nvidia cards are released ( I am assuming that will be next spring)

I was leaning towards keeping the 770, buying a nice 4k monitor and running my games at 1080p until I buy a new gpu. I am certain that the next gen gpus will not only perform better at 4k but will also do so for much better price/performance. I think that will require a jump to a new version of windows since I am running 7 still and at least on my 4k tv it scales horribly.

What are your guys thoughts? I am open to suggestions.

Thanks
