Nexus 7 won't charge

Whenever I attempt to charge it, I get a blank screen(no battery charging icon) with only the backlight lit. And even if I allow it to charge for hours, as soon as I unplug it, the backlight turns off, and I cannot turn it on. It's been sitting for a long time, so naturally it would completely discharge. But again, after hours(and even a full day) of "charging," it won't hold a charge at all. Is the a case of a dead battery? I've tried what everyone has tried. Nothing has worked.

I guess so. Does anyone replace batteries for a Nexus 7? Besides Google.

my brother cracked his screen awhile ago and just let the thing sit on the charger for who knows how long. it now does what yours is doing. his is more than likely, probably, 99% sure, a dead battery. check ebay for batteries. nothing says legit like sketchy unlabeled parts from China

How long have you had it?  Try to contact ASUS support.  I had to RMA mine for the same problem.  I think there is a history there of at least a bad connector if not the battery itself.  Mine kept showing the red indicator that the charge level was unknown while it was acting up as well...
