So basically im trying to install windows on a fresh pc using usb and everytime i boot from any drive i get: DISK BOOT FAILURE, INSERT SYSTEM DISK AND PRESS ENTER .

does anyone have any ideas as im driving myself mad here.

have you got a windows 8/8.1 product key 

My speakers dont even fit on or under my desk...PA's FTW

yeah its all on the usb installer with the iso

how is the "product key on the USB installer"?

Does your computer has UEFI?

 

What mobo do you have?

i got the product key off g2a then used it to download the iso then ran the usb installer and put it all on the usb. the pc:

gigabyte 78LMT-USB3

fx6300

wd blue 1tb

8gb hyperx ram 

 

basically no matter where i boot from i just get that message

You can't simply copy the files from the dvd or iso to the usb stick file by file, it doesn't work that way. What you need to do is get a tool that can make an exact copy, byte by byte, of the dvd or iso, like BurnISO or UNetbootin.

At least, I'm guessing that's what the problem is.

I've no idea why the world is afraid of 3D-printed guns when clearly 3D-printed crossbows would be more practical for now.

there is a link to download the windows 8/8.1 iso if you have another pc open the file select x64 or 86 language and then the copy of it e.g pro, enterprise etc i use rufus to make boot able usb's

try is again with the link i sent you and use rufus when loading in the iso in rufus select uefi
