I always go for WD Blue drives for inexpensive storage. They only go up to 1TB, but they certainly aren't expensive and are reliable for data storage.

You could also go for a Seagate Barracuda, which offer similar speeds and reliability to WD Blues.

I used to use a WD Blue - after 4 years of use it's still in quite good shape and has been through so many power outages I cannot begin to count.

Seagate Barracuda - Speed of a wd black and priced about the same as a blue. I have heard that the Blue is rather loud, i cannot confirm that though.

Speeds like the WD Black? I doubt. Also, WD Blues are inaudible in an open case to my experience >.>

In my experience Seagate Barracuda Drives perform more like Blues than Blacks. Good point about the noise, WD drives lack AAM so they can be louder than Seagate drives when spinning (but not very loud).

Both Seagate Barracudas and WD Blues are good inexpensive drives :)

If you want the best price/GB look on PCPartPicker. Without knowing what country you live in I can't say what'll be the cheapest but there's a good chance it'll be something from Toshiba (likely a rebranded drive from HGST) or something from HGST/Hitachi.
