Help me understand please

Go to solution Solved by defunkt,

Thank you sir! But on last question. It is two different cables though l, right?

The difference it that dual link DVI has all the possible pins. and single link has a chunk of pins missing.

Hello

In my first post here i was looking for help to choose a new monitor. But after a lot of reading (reviews, etc...) I've heard about that dual link DVI is better than DVI, but what is the difference?! I'm running a GTX 660 and if dual link DVI is better can i have a setup with a dual link DVI cable. I'm planning on getting the BenQ XL2411T

Thanks!

With that graphics card I really wouldn't waste money on a 120Hz monitor. You'll never hit 60+ fps on max settings with most games. I guess it makes sense if your playing in 3D?

Afaik, yes. When I bought my monitor the documentation made pains to point out that it included a dual link DVI cable, so I assume they are different.
