But this should be everything you need for in your budget. The SSD will greatly increase load times, and it is only 120 GB which should be fine, but if she happens to fill that up you can pick up another cheap mechanical drive for extremely cheap.

Alright guys, this is my first post here but I could really use some help here :D

So my friend wanted a new computer and I have built one before, however not that savvy in knowing the best parts available for the money.

I have a budget of $350 and need a new computer for her, remember gaming is not the concern at all. She just wants something that is fast, and can handle Facebook and MS Word. So needless to say an SSD is a must. Now the caveat is that, this budget also needs to include a monitor and keyboard/mouse. The monitor can be alright-ish. Even under 1080p will do. The highest I can go for the budget is $400 but if any of you can do it under $350-360 that would be awesome :3 Storage can also be just 500gb as she is not going to store that much data to my knowledge.

TL:DR

I need a cheap ass comp for $350-400.

Basically a work/highschool computer.

Needs to be fast.

Monitor/Keyboard/Mouse (Can be crap)

Thank you guys so much ^-^

If you can try to get an SSD for the OS that would ensure that it will be fairly quick and the boot times will also be low.

Edit: Actually read you're post. You already are trying to get an SSD. xD well SSHD could also be a good choice instead of just a regular HDD if you have multiple drives. Otherwise I don't know if you can get 500GB of SSD storage for a price where you can get all the other stuff as well... Also you country of origin would help as well since we'd be able to look for deals in your country and not just guessing at the prices.

@CrispyMango

Please, do not buy the G3258, it is a terrible choice unless you plan to HEAVILY overclock. The G3258 also has NO ONBOARD GPU, so that build wouldnt even WORK. The build you quoted wont allow you to OC, making it terrible for games and other tasks.

Get an i3, or use this build. i3 intel is better. but you cannot play games at it without a graphics card

This setup will play most modern games, like LoL, Dota2, WoW, GW2, even BF4 at around 40-60FPS so she can even play games on it without issues. Unlike both the G3258 and i3 4130, which will struggle.....
