A friend of mine has asked me to help him with building a PC. Since it would be my first time building one from scratch I'd like a proofreading before I present it to him.
We're aiming at 1000$ with a 100$ buffer if the part is really worth it.

Thank you.

no need for the 4790k when only gaming, he can just overclock it to get around 4.6 with that cooler, even more, yes  agree on the 16 gig ram, get another 8 stick and run them in dual channel so 2x8 other than that great build

Early 2020 Build : Intel i7 8700k // MSI Krait Z370 // Corsair LPX 8x2 16GB // Aorus 5700 XT // NZXT H500

Early 2019 Build : Ryzen 2600X // Asus Tuff X470 // G.Skill Trident Z RGB 8x2 16GB // MSI RTX 2070 // NZXT H500

I have that ram, same 1 8GB stick, get either 2x8 or 2x4, because with only one stick, you will be running at 800MHz.

The only reason im not getting another stick is because I want to see what Skylake brings.

1. Ghz doesnt mean better, Im guessing youre new to this.

2. 16GB is not needed for games.

3. @OP, make it a 2x4 kit not 1x8
