I'm building my first custom PC and have finished picking out parts but then I remember what is also pretty important. MEMORY! Does anyone have any ideas for a good (preferably red) SSD (around 200-500) and HDD (around 2-3TB)? The color isn't as important but it makes everything look better

FYI memory is ram, you're looking for storage, for an ssd i would suggest an intel ssd, pick which ever one fits in your budget, for HDD WD Black

I would go for a Kingston Savage, looks really good, Linus likes them, and is pretty fast (At least peak transfer speeds.) As for the HDD, Toshiba and Seagate  have low cost options. Make sure to back the hdd up though, I've heard some people who had them fail.

Technically both are "Memory". RAM is System Memory and HDD's/SSD's are Storage Memory.

But for the sake of simplicity, you're correct, those are the terms used in actual practice. Otherwise it get's real confusing unless people are super specific.

Theres no "Storage Memory", when talking about Memory in the sense of Storage you are reffering to the human brain.

You sir, are quite incorrect:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Computer_memory

The term primary memory is used for storage systems which function at high-speed (i.e. RAM), as a distinction from secondary memory, which provides program and data storage that is slow to access but offer higher memory capacity.

I have highlighted the relevant portion of the quote to prove the inaccuracy of your statement.

Ahhh my mistake then :P

No worries, it happens. Just please refrain from stating something as if it's a 100% cold hard fact when you're not 100% certain of that knowledge :P

it's the part that you felt the need for that in the first place. Wether you are right or wrong has nothing to do with it. It's the part that you felt you were so above it in the first place.

Not sure if i understood your sentence correctly (no offense) but i think you are saying that i felt i was, and i quote: "above everyone". Please don't say that, beacuse you have no idea what goes on inside my head. I only said what i THOUGHT was correct, apperantly it was not, then i admitted to my mistake.

Alright folks, that's enough. @theereal admitted to his mistake, and that's all that was needed. No need to drag his face through the mud with 40 other people telling him how wrong he was. That's senseless and rude. And @theereal I also apologize if my second comment seemed unnecessarily harsh. My bad :)

All true. Time for people to stop harping on you and move on in life :P
