No, clone/copying OS copy the whole drive not just one partition, better off doing a clean install.

If I use a program to grab the partition that holds my OS and move it to another hard drive (via copying), can I wipe that partition of the hard drive after I have the OS on the new drive WITHOUT wiping the rest of the drive?
