Cheap but Fast HDD

Can anyone recommend a cheap but fast HDD with lots of storage for less that $100? I would need at max 1TB. My motherboard supports SATA 6 gigabit.

WD 1TB Black. High quality, nice cache, and reliable. If I were you though, I'd get two 1TB Blue's and put them in RAID 01, and it would still be under your budget.

I might just have to do the RAID. Just to be sure, that's RAID 1? Also, would the WD Green 1TB be another good choice? I saw that's it's cheaper by about $10.

I also managed to find a 64GB A-Data SD for $40 new so that's why I am trying to get a crap ton of HDD storage. I wasn't even planning on getting an SSD until I found this SSD deal.

RAID 00 for speed (but you don't want to do that on a hard drive), and RAID 01 for reliablity. The WD Green is a poor choice because it has a speed of only 5400RPM, rather than the 7200RPM speed of the Blue and the Black. Don't get the Red unless you want a NAS or storage server/computer, and don't get the Purple unless you need that weird 5900RPM speed for surveillance or something. 

Cheaper parts are sometimes tempting.

There's no OS because I don't know what version of Windows I'm getting. Also, the R9 270 I was getting was $140 but now it's over $180. Wow!

There are no cheap fast HDD. You need a SSD for your OS and two HDD in a RAID 0. That is your best option.

That's what I'm going to do. Besides my 500GB drive in my current computer died with all my data on it so I will be going with RAID 1.

That would defeat the purpose, RAID 1 is redundant. An external drive or a 32-64GB flash drive is a better backup.

But if one of my drives die then I lose all my data.

That is what an external USB drive or a 32-64GB flash USB drive is for. You save all your important stuff on the SSD.

Cheap HDD? HGST has a 7k1000 at like $40. It's an olde but a goode, if speeds aren't hugely important then I'd jump on it. Not to say that it's a slouch though, that thing could compete with WD's 10000RPM Raptor. Not to mention it's built to take a beating.
