I want to update my graphics card, now I have a GTX 660 reference card and I have planned to buy a GTX 970 Gigabyte g1 gaming.
I actualy play at 1080p, but someday I would like to play at 4k ressolution.
the question is:
Is this a good upgrade? What difference I would notice?. Please say all you think that could make me more conffident with that decision xD.

And one again, sorry for my poor english =(

TY all

The 970 is a very good card. I am getting one myself soon and a lot of my friends have them. They dont play at 1440p, because they dont have a 1440p screen. But it smashes 1080p out of the water.

You will notice the fact that you can play all games on max settings :P

Other PC specs will effect it too... Post your specs

You should see a big increase in game conformance for sure if you added a 970 to that.

The thing is that i play all kind of games from Battleblock theater to project cars, some csgo, dirt, grid 2, bioshock... And now i have no problem with my fps ratio, but i want to be able to play some ark, and some semanding games in the future.

I wont upgrade my 1080p monitor that is an samsung s22c300 in a short period of time so that means that im going to play in 1080p a lot of time more from now, but i understand that the 900 series alows you to play in 4k an reescales it to 1080 to increase the quality of the image and i also want to take advantage of that.

970 isn't quite powerfull enough for 4K, you can play at 4K but don't expect high settings, DSR is usefull only in older games.

You should be fine with that set up, a 970 isn't really that good at 4K, unless you plan on having everything set to the lowest setting

My question is if i wouldn't have any problem with future games with the 970 that i would have with the 660 but in the future future xD.

Other question, i spouse that the 4k with minimum settings is worst that 1080 wit maximum.

And is a good card to play at 1440p

a 970 will easily play games at 4k medium high settings.

my gtx 770 could play most games at medium high settings and get 30fps+ so a 970 could better that by far.

Gaming PC: • AMD Ryzen 7 3900x • 16gb Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 3200mhz • Founders Edition 2080ti • 2x Crucial 1tb nvme ssd • NZXT H1• Logitech G915TKL • Logitech G Pro • Asus ROG XG32VQ • SteelSeries Arctis Pro Wireless

In my Eyes 4k is worth it in 3-4 Years. Too much Power is needed for good FPS with max Graphics. 1 Highend GPU in 1440p 144hz is the perfect sweetspot right now.

Okay so i decided finally to buy the 970 because I cant save money (and i want it right now xD)

Im a Nvidia fanboy, the geforce experience is a real help for me and, in the other side my rig have a blue theme so the g1 led will fit perfectly.

My last question is if my power supply can handle the gtx 970 g1 from gigabyte.

My PSU is the cougar power 700 model: CGR B2-700
