Ubuntu just because of ease of use and the fact that on steam package is a .deb file which debian distributions such as Ubuntu can install without the hassle of finding some random-ass repo someone has like with other distros.

Ubuntu and Mint would be some of the best because they are pretty user friendly.

Probably Ubuntu, but if you really want to game just have a partition on your HDD with Windows as there is limited selection for Games on Linux.
