SLI 970 quick question

Go to solution Solved by GrimNeo,

So I'm about to buy my second 970 for SLI (sorry guys in my loonngg thread yesterday who said buy a 980 Ti! ;) )

I'm getting an ASUS one - I have a ASUS one already but it is NOT factory OC'd (It can whack right up though so)

My question is:

Shall I get the 970, OC'd which will cost £284, inc shipping, or -

The normal one, at £274 inc. shipping.

Not much difference right, BUT I'm not sure that they will be compatible and don't want to spend extra on sending it back just in case. What do ya'll think dudes and lassies?

Get the normal one and just overclock it yourself.

if you already have a 970 there is no point in spending all the extra money getting a 980 ti. all 970s are compatible with each other unless you somehow get one with different amount of ram which i dont think there are any

Nah, they're all the same. Don't really expect them to release ones with more either, though people would probably still buy it.

@OP Just go for the normal one. 970s overclock well, so you can just push it up to the other one's clockspeed anyway.
