Current setup

cpu: intel core 2 duo E8500 3.2Ghz

RAM: 4GB

GPU: Geforce 8800 GTS

Mobo: p5ql pro https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/P5QL_PRO/

 

I intend to buy a nvidia 650 ti

and i was wondering if the pcie2 mobo will be compatible with the gpu

prolly the cpu will be a bottleneck too

can some1 help/suggest what to look for

Get a 750ti for a bit more, CPU should not bottleneck since this is a low end GPU. PCIe is all backwards compatible and a gen2 8 or 16x won't slow down the card.

Yes, PCIe is backwards compatible.

 

i dont intend to upgrade more than that cuz ill buy a 4k gaming pc 

When will you upgrade to 4K? I would recommenced against it- I'd wait 6 more months.
