No it won't. People have reported that they have the latest build permanently activated.

 

I have been a insider for quite some time for windows 10. I am running it on my desktop that runs ubuntu linux along with a dual booted windows 10. Will I be able to keep windows 10 after I am done with the preview, or will I need to pay for it?

You can keep using it if you stay on the preview branch. That means stuff might be broken, you will have to test the updates before they get pushed to the Current Branch, and you have a slight chance of losing data. Also, MS will track your usage.

it will quit working all together at some point. Usually 6 months after launch of finished product.

Anyone who is stating it wont work is incorrect

It wont work as the build you have and you wont have a consumer build you are always going to be on the preview build of it though where you will be testing out new patches that are comin
