Fraps - Super Low FPS in SLI?

Hi everyone! So I'm a hardcore Skyrim modder, and love to record different ENB's and showcase them to YouTube. Well lately, I got a second GTX 780 and run them in SLI. I've noticed that when I record while having SLI enabled while playing Skyrim, I get worse FPS while recording in SLI then when I record with just using 1 card. I get like 10-15FPS while recording in SLI and get like 30FPS with SLI disabled. Mind you, I haven't tested this theory in other games, just in skyrim. Is Fraps not made to handle SLI or vise versa? Thanks in advance for any replies that I get.

What is your CPU usage like? Iv'e had multiple problems with fraps in the past hogging the CPU all for itself and causing poor performance.

Try using OBS. Fraps is a heavy resource hog even for powerful computers.

NEVER GIVE UP. NEVER STOP LEARNING. DONT LET THE PAST HURT YOU. YOU CAN DOOOOO IT

i'll monitor it when i play next and let you know. i'm pretty sure the usage goes from anywhere to 80-100% though.

It can definitely help improve things

You could also try using OBS which has various codecs available, I believe you can use intel quick-sync to have basically no performance drop just like using shadowplay (basically uses the graphics built into your intel CPU to record the game)

(also Hi, welcome to the forum dont think I have seen you before :D)

Heyyo,

http://www.reddit.com/r/skyrimmods/comments/2sjxh8/skyrim_sli_gpu_utilization/

Hmm... some people say that ENB is the culpurit... please try running Skyrim without ENB and see what happens.

From that same thread? They say that K's ENB Pure Light mod seems to work ok in SLI.
