Computer crashes when play games.

Hey guys, i recently installed skyrim onto my dads computer and played it for a bit, and every now and then the whole computer crashes no BSOD's or what so ever come up . Its only every happened on skyrim. any ideas?

specs:

GA-78LMT-S2P

AMD Athlon x2 260 @ 3.2ghz (stock)

8gb of GSkill ram @ 1333mhz

ASUS HD 7750 @ 860/1210mhz (GDDR5)

500gb WD green

600w PSU

The GPU is overclocked just a bit. The CPU recently got a new aftermarket cooler. Temps are OK.

Try taking the GPU back to stock speeds and also lower your graphical settings on skyrim before you load up the game, hope this helps

What brand is your psu? A generic one may not actually be able to deliver its rated wattage and may cause random system shutdowns

that never made a difference, computer crashes only when i play skyrim.. no matter wat the detail is, it crashes.

1. Monitor your temperatures while gaming (HWMonitor, HWInfo, CoreTemp, SpeedFan, Aida64, Speccy, ...).

2. Check you RAM using Memtest86+ (not from Windows!).

3. Check your power extension cable the PC is plugged into.

1. The Temps are Fine!

2. Ram is fine

3. Its perfectly in.

(Its only ever happened to this game!)

do you have the most recent drivers installed?

if not try installing the most recent drivers.

if so try installing considerably older drivers somewhere around the 11.xx drivers.

try restoring the motherboard bios to factory default.

try putting the card into a different pc if possible to see if the problem persists.

you said the temps are fine,check the vram temps on hwinfo.

it has all latest drivers installed. restored BIOS, vram temps are fine aswell.
