Hello guys, I upgraded my pc today from a GTX280 1GB to a GTX750 2GB. After I installed the 750, my pc installed an update, but I don't know for what that update was. The install took a very long time. After that, I still had to download latest drivers for 750. When everything was ready and I restarted my pc, it took pretty long to start up. Before that, with the GTX280 in it, it didn't take very long to start up.

My boot time with the 280 was around 10 secs (on HDD, I don't have a SSD). Now with the 750, it takes pretty long (30 sec) to boot.

Could it be the Nvidia drivers, so it first checks the 280's drivers and after that, the 750's drivers?

But could it be the Nvidia drivers? Maybe that I have to delete the old drivers

Nope, as I said gpu drivers have nothing to do with windows booting, it's to do with your drive.

It's probably the restart. Normally, you have a "Fast-boot" option checked which allows the OS to store what you were doing in System memory, making the next boot quite a bit faster. The same reason my PC takes considerably longer to restart and I usually simply shut down and boot up again.

Im guessing the windows update did the GPU driver, here is what I suggest. Go into safe mode and run DDU and disconnect from the internet.

Start into windows normally and install the driver and reboot.

he doesn't need to do that. It's probably the fast-boot option that only works when you "boot" the PC and not when you "re-boot" it. It's completely fine. As long as it boots up normally next time there is no reason to worry about it.

Enjoy your new card OP.

I don't know what it was, but it probably fixed itself. My pc boots fast again, around 10-15 sec from HDD.
