Hello fellow enthusiasts,
I recently started my research into building my own desktop and have grown quite fond of the LinusTechTips videos. I figured I would share my planned build on these forums for reviewing and to ask a couple of questions. This is the first time I ever do this so your feedback would be greatly appreciated guys!

PARTS LIST

Approximate cost = $ 1,600 - 1,700 USD

This is already a bit over my budget and I will probably struggle a bit to cover it but in my country the parts are a bit overpriced, and even if I order them online the shipping costs and customs fees would probably end up costing me more money, so this was the best I was able to muster. Also please keep in mind that I am a bit limited with stock availability.

That being said, I am striving to build a system that would be able to handle whatever I might throw at it (coding, graphic design, video editing and the occasional 3D modelling). I will also be gaming often, playing World of Warcraft, Far Cry, Call of Duty, Skyrim, GTA V, Batman Arkham Knight, and any other game I might find compelling.

I will be starting out with one 24' monitor. I multitask a lot so I will eventually get a second monitor for a dual screen configuration. 1080p at 60Hz will suffice for now but I would love to upgrade to 144Hz or even 4K in the future (having upgraded my GPU of course). I will eventually be buying a gaming grade keyboard and mouse (most probably from Razor) as well.

What do you guys think? Is it worth it buying a second monitor or should I focus on having one really good monitor instead (e.g. 27' at 144Hz)? I am also looking for an air-based CPU cooler that isn't too bulky and matches the red and black color scheme of the build yet delivers good cooling for some decent overclocking.

Thank you for reading,

Jad.

@Castdeath97 Mostly coding and photoshop. But I do like to make some video editing every now and then.

That doesn't warrant the need for a i7 get the i5 4690K, you could do much better in games with a 970 or a r9 390 with the money you saved from moving to the i5.

Get Windows 7. You'll get Windows 10 on 29/06/2015

If you are gonna upgrade to w/10 anyway then why not get 8.1

Its so much cheaper

Also if you are doing a bit of photoshop and editing it might be an idea to get a bit more ram when you have the extra moneys in the future

It really helps with rendering times of video and shiz

Why Is it windows 10 not 9?

because 7 ate 9
(say it)

Any suggestions on the CPU cooler?

Also, would it be a good idea it to build the PC without the GPU and then later on buying a higher end card such as the GTX 980? The CPU should suffice for a month's worth of browsing and video streaming, with perhaps occasional photoshop projects. Right?
