I have had boot problems problems ever since installing a game that runs DirectX 9 on my PC. This has happened before!

Help!

my windows 8.1 PC has recently started to shut off at random times. This started yesterday. I have tried repairs in windows with no luck. I had the same problem earlier (~a month ago) when I installed Bioshock 1, 2, and Infinite, the crashing went away with one repair. I installed GTA IV and about an hour and a half in, it crashed. I got it to start to repair, but as soon as it started to initialize, it went into a weird reboot loop. I'm not sure it's windows because it starts and stops working before I even see the motherboard logo. I sometimes get a blue screen to help me repair, but most of the time when it successfully boots, I actually go into windows. Today I have noticed that it shuts off when I use the mouse or keyboard. I have used repair about 5 times! the most recent time, it asked me if I wanted to revert to before the previous repair, leading me to believe that it removed something critical. During the previous repair it said that a couple mouse and keyboard drivers were the problem. The first time it brought up the blue screen, it said the problem was DirectX 9, I believe Bioshock 1 uses that as well. I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO PLEASE HELP!!! I cannot get into the computer. Does this sound like it's my SSD that is the problem, windows, or other hardware. I desperately need help. I know I can't use a recovery USB drive because you have to download it from the computer (Which makes no since Microsoft says here: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-8/create-usb... that you can use it if you cant't get in, and I know it says to make one before problems), I had a random power flicker on my device while plating Gang Beasts about a week ago. We had a PS4, my computer, 2 monitors, and speakers on a power strip (possibly overloaded it), do you think this caused it?

PLEASE HELP!!!

When I try to turn it on, it stays on for ~2 seconds 3 times, I then get an American Megatrends thing (Like when you first POST), then an ROG logo (normal, to go into BIOS), and the Windows symbol, spinning dots and "Preparing Automatic Repair", once it seems to start the repair, it shuts off and does the loop again!

sounds like either SSD/HDD failure or corrupt Registry.

I use my SSD for my OS so that is most likely the one thats messed up. I have read up on corrupt registries, and there can't possibly be a way for me to fix it because my system wont stay on long enough to take it back to the last stable state. Another thing is that all I've seen about corrupt registry fixes require you to go INTO Windows--something I can't do.

Would it be a bad idea to just wipe the SSD and reinstall everything? If so, there are some files I would like to recover, how do you think I should go about that?

If you don't wipe your SSD, your old Windows installation will go into a Windows.Old folder, allowing you to recover files.

Guide?

Personal experience ;)

As long as you don't choose to format your drive (in the Windows installer) it'll detect the Windows Installation and move it.

Of course you're booted from DVD/USB.

You could also use some bootable Linux distribution to save your files, or install to a spare HDD, or... y'know stuff.

Will the disks be automatically formatted, if so, how do I choose not to format them?

So I chose "repair computer" when I put in the disk, bad idea because it went into that stupid loop again so I think the problem is that my computer is TRYING to fix itself, but it CAN'T.
