you dont need a gpu, you just need a good cpu and 8gb of ram, i7s are amazing for streaming but im sure an i5 4690k should be good enough.

I wanted to build a separate PC to record off of my gaming PC, and since I've never had a setup like this, I was wondering how powerful does a recording/streaming PC have to be? And what do I need in my gaming rig in order to work with it?

just use a  cheap aftermarket cooler like the hyper 212 evo with 8350 or intel xeon 1231 with stock

<p>Wish I could have this already!! : http://pcpartpicker.com/p/qTLRjX

What about cooling? Do temperatures get high? Do I need to go all out? Water cooling? Aftermarket fans? Stock fans?

Use the quote button, just get a hyper 212 evo nothing beats a good old hyper 212 evo.

If you want to reply back to me or someone else USE THE QUOTE BUTTON!

Do you need any help setting up a dual PC recording system?  I know how to.

A cheap 8320 is perfect for this job. Grab a r5 230 which should be ~$50 for a MSI for video. To save resources you can even run linux, to save even more resources don't even bother having the OS GUI start up lol.

Sure, I'd love some help, but for right now I'm just trying to get my shopping list organized.

If my main rig uses Nvidia, can my recording PC even use an AMD GPU?

And what would be a good motherboard for this setup?

Also, is RAM important here?
