Help interpreting this result from Intel XTU benchmark?

Go to solution Solved by Lays,

I think you can get 1100 by tweaking cache a bit easily, but I believe you're right around where you should be for points.

Here are the runs I said I'd post.

Keep in mind my results will differ because of my ram speeds, but you can see the temps and stuff and voltages, so you can make a rough comparison of what your temps should look like.

Here is 4.0 ghz CPU and 4.0 ghz cache:

here is 4.5 ghz CPU and 4.5 ghz cache:

Should I re apply thermal paste?

What voltage are you running? Xtu is a VERY hot benchmark.

On a side note, your cpus max temp is 100c, as long as its not sitting at 100 for hours on end it's fine.

Were your fans at 100% and pump speed too? Is your cpu cache overclocked at all?

Your CPU shouldn't exceed 80°C.

My cpu gets to 95 under benchmarks, in the real world probably never goes over 70.

did you overclock the cpu? install CPU-Z and see what is ur voltage.  assuming u have not overclocked than you really should reapply the paste

-snip-

Looks good, pretty inline with my results (half the cores/threads, same IPC = roughly half the score).

1.2559 something like that, I know i wasn't damaging it. I didn't check my pumps speed. Gonna try again. Cache is not overclocked, should i ?

I know, mine gets up to 90 all the time when testing.

Adaptive voltage mode off right? You didn't mention fans btw, those at 100%?

At 1.22v with overclocked cache to 4.5 and cpu at 4.5 I hit 80c right on the dot with my 212 evo, but my cpu is delidded and I have two great fans on it in push/pull.

Overclocking cache can help yes for sure. I will post my runs in a few when I get on my PC.

@Lays PC Fans are controlled by the motherboard Maximus VII Hero by Asus, do you have a link for that version of CPU-z ? Mine looks way different. Can I get a quick run through the settings you modified when overclocking ? I think I have my cpu overclocked automatically to 4.6 with a bios auto overclocking feature.

edit: What ram are you running? I have 16gb of 1866mhz DDR3
