Hey guys , so I have ordered all the parts for my new gaming rig :

i7 4790k, 16 gb ddr3 ram, windforce gtx 980 ti .

The thing I am stuck on is the display. So I have the option between the acer predator xb270hu (gsync) or I can get either the DELL or LG ultrawide monitor.

Which would be the better option ? Ive heard G-sync makes gameplay really smooth , but on the other hand ultra wide has a really immersive experience.

I wont have the budget for the ultrawide g-sync monitors coming out this fall from acer and asus , so needed you opinion.

Note : The monitor will be used purely for gaming  (RPGs , shooters etc)

Thanks alot..!!

Well I personally sold my ROG Swift and I'm getting a 3440x1440 in the coming days, so for me the ultra wide (and IPS) was a bigger deal, but seeing as you're willing to buy the xb270hu which has IPS, maybe you should stick with that.

Or if you're willing to wait, and willing to spend more there are 2 Ultra wide G sync monitors on the way:

Acer X34 75Hz and the Asus PG34Q 60Hz (There is also a 1080p ultra wide too which will be 144Hz Acer Z35) all of which are IPS

G sync was a really nice feature (along with 144Hz) and if my Swift had IPS I probably would have stuck with it instead of switching to ultra wide

i5 4690k | GTX 980Ti G1 Gaming | 16GB RAM | MSI Z97 Gaming 7 | NZXT Kraken X61 | 850 EVO 250GB x2  | 1TB 850 Evo NZXT Noctis 450 | EVGA 750W 80+ Gold

 Ducky Shine 3 TKL (Browns) | LG 34UC87C | Logitech MX Master ATH-M50x's + DT990 Pro's

I have g sync on a 60hz panel. and to me it doesn't make sense. yes it works and stops slow down and tearing. but if you've got enough gpu grunt. 60hz isn't that hard to maintain and v sync does a great job.

only consider g sync of you're after a high refresh monitor.

thats just my opinion, as someone who payed the premium a long while ago.
