isn´t the 980Ti overkill for 1080p?

well no. You will get more fps. Price doesn't matter to him.

Well if price isn't an issue get 295 x2 card but then you need to change PSU :P When someone says best without budget I think of 295x2. But usually "best" at certain resolution means performance/price ratio card for that resolution. If you think of that get 390.

I have only 60hz monitor so more than 60 fps doesn't matter for my, and I want to ask about 970 that memory issue does it really that bad? If I would use all 4gb memory would it struggle a lot?

And I dont want to buy overkill gpu

the most balls to the wall price to performance 1080p card is Overclocked 295x2.

Downside is that you need a 1200w 80+ GOLD PSU to even remotely handle it when overclocked.
