Hi Guys.

About to order everything for my PC. Was looking at the times when it should come and it's all next day delivery apart from the monitor.

I'm getting a Asus 23" 1080p 60hz monitor for just under £130.

Just wondering if I can get a 144hz (or even 120hz) monitor for the same money or a little more

What about a 1440p monitor for the same money or a little bit more?

Working at the moment guys so won't be replying right back.

Thanks!

Do you have a system capable of 1440p or 144hz?

Also, no you are talking more like £250-£300

What kind of specs are you working with?

Also what kind of games do you play?

That will determine what will benefit you the most. You wont get it for the same price, but add maybe £100 and you can get either of the improvements you mentioned.

But as to which one is best, or if either will be worth it that'll be down to your use case and PC specs.

That money wont buy you anything good. And what the point of sidegrading to another trash monitor?

Save up and get either:

qnix 2710 = 2560x1440, IPS, and overclock it to 100HZ (its the one which can do that)

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA4JH1NB1871

or save up a bit more and get a 350$ LG 29um67 - 29inch, IPS, 2560x1080, 75hz, freesync

Those are the two cheapest options that are worth spending money on. If you cant afford one of these, you save up.

Save some money, 1080p 60fps is fine IMO

JK JK .

144hz if you really want to play competitive games.

1440p if not and have powerful GPU .

1080p 60hz if neither.

You have a 980ti? you should be spending way more on a monitor,

spending £130 on a monitor is just a waste of your 980ti

save up and get something good!

With those specs you could power 1440p nicely, but yeah it'll cost some extra ££ probably around £250

You could get the Dell U2515H for around that price, it'll be 1440p and have IPS so a couple of improvments which you will notice a nice difference and imo it's worth the extra cash if you can spend it.

why not 4k ?____?

Overkill, for 1080p or even 1440p. Things cost money

You have a 980ti? you should be spending way more on a monitor,

spending £130 on a monitor is just a waste of your 980ti

save up and get something good!

better yet, get a less expensive gpu and get a good but still fairly cheap monitor. Save money, live happy (impending walmart copyright lawsuit)

Thanks guys. Already spending £1600 and that already way over budget. I'll probably upgrade to 144hz 1440p in the future.

What 144hz 1440p monitor would you recommend?

Both the ones @Si3Rra_7 mentioned are nice g sync monitors, if you have the money I'd go for the Acer one because it has IPS too.

But if you're looking to save a decent bit of cash you could go for these:

Acer XG270HU - Cheap 1440p 144Hz TN Panel (Yes ik it's freesync, but ignore that if you have a nvidia card, it just happens to be that one of the cheapest one is also freesync compatible aha)

Asus MG279Q - Again ignore the freesync, 1440p 144Hz IPS Panel (For a bit more than the TN one I mentioned above.)

These both come out around £350-450

i5 4690k | GTX 980Ti G1 Gaming | 16GB RAM | MSI Z97 Gaming 7 | NZXT Kraken X61 | 850 EVO 250GB x2  | 1TB 850 Evo NZXT Noctis 450 | EVGA 750W 80+ Gold
