I use dual 12v rails in my PSU just fine.

I made a little post regarding it here: http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/32751-single-rail-and-multiple-rail/?p=419592

Typically, for the average user, modern day PSUs has their cables configured in a way that is still a hassle-free plugged and play. So unless you putting your system under extreme overclocks during benching scenario, you shouldn't worry.

hmm okay thanks, doesnt really make my decision easier but hey.

I'm looking at either the Corsair TX650M, CX750M or the be quiet! BN181 Pure Power 530w Modular or even ultimately Fractals Tesla 650w in white although I cant seem to find any retailers of it yet

So what are your thoughts on those PSUs?

It depends. What system are you powering?

What will you be powering? What's your budget? What country/state are you from?

Also, is that Fractal Design Telsa or Tesla R2?

Case: Fractal R4

CPU: i5 4670k

Mobo: MSI Gaming z87-g45

HDD: 1tb WD black

SSD: 120GB OCZ vertex 3 or Samsung 840

RAM: Corsair Vengeance White LP 1.35v 8GB

Fans: 2-4 Corsair AF140

CPU cooler: Arctic cooling freezer pro 13

PSU: Corsair CX750M/TX650M/Fractal Tesla R2 White/Be Quiet! 530w Pure power modular/NZXT Hale82 600w

I also wish to add a GTX 760 Gigabyte windforce into the system at Christmas (with the option of SLI although highly unlikely)

And the Fractal Tesla R2 is the only one that comes in white, so it would be the R2

Im from England, total budget of £800 but I'd rather not pay more than £80 for the PSU.

Mainly I would like either a Modular PSU or a White one to fit my theme!

I would recommend getting the 7950 instead since it's around the same price as the 760 and performs better.

If you plan to sli 760's, a 650w would do:

Thanks, I do appreciate the info however I have had many bad experiences with AMD Graphics, coupled with the £30 extra over the GTX 760 and the need for a better PSU, I'd rather stick with the GTX 760... I'm only a casual gamer so wouldn't bother me at all.

Sticking with one 760 you think the CX500M would be a decent choice or the TX650M?

I was initially going for the CX500M/CX600M however many people seem to dislike the CX series and have told me Im stupid if I get one, I however trust corsair and its bronze rating :/

Well, if you want both white and modularity, the NZXT Hale90 650w is an excellent unit, but it's a little more than what you like to spend. If you can buy it from here: http://www.scan.co.uk/products/650w-nzxt-hale90-hale90650m-modular-90eff-80-plus-gold-sli-crossfire-eps-12v-quiet-fan-atx-v22-psu

The platform that the CX750m isn't bad per-say, but it uses lower quality caps that are rated at a lower temperature with a lower quality sleeve bearing fan. If you can get the Thermaltake Smart 750-M, it would get that instead (same platform, but higher quality components). The TX650M is iteration of the same platform, but uses better caps and fan, but it lacks the proper connectivity for SLI (only has two PCIe cables forcing you to used adapters). I would personally pass on these two units.

If you decide not to SLI, I would go for the Seasonic G SSR-450/550RM.

The Fractal Design Tesla R2 650w is a solid ATNG unit but lacks modularity.

NZXT Hale82 650-M? or 650-N? The 650-M is a solid mid-range unit based on the Seasonic SS-650AM platform. The 650-N (non-modular one) is a poor FSP unit. XFX mentioned above is also based on the Seasonic platform and is too a good unit

The CX 430~600w line is a low-end, budget oriented PSU that is based on a modified DSA-II platform from CWT. I would pass on it as well.

Ahh the NZXT hale90 650w is very very nice and would fit in perfectly with my theme, look and needs however £99 is a little far... being a student, budget is rather important sadly :(

The Thermaltake PSU is awfully ugly to me, of course quality is key but to me personally so is aesthetics and I wouldn't be happy with that.

The Seasonic you mentioned, I have looked into before and doesn't seem to be easily available over here in the UK, sadly.

The Fractal Tesla R2 is great, I love it 99%... it just not modular and doesn't seem to be on sale in the UK at the moment either.

The NZXT Hale82 650-M looks solid, is modular and also has a nice white fan inside plus Haswell compatible.

From what you said, I will completely rule out the CX series altogether!

I'm about 95% sure I won't SLI/xFire so personally am leaning towards the TX650M seeing as its £25 less than the hale82 650M

Now finally the BEQUIET! BN181 Pure Power 530w Modular? Any light to reveal on that unit?

A single 760 will run fine on a cx500 with plenty of headroom.

The cx series aren't bad at all. There are just higher quality options--that you don't need.

The BeQuiet! PurePower L8 is one of the better unit from HEC (the actual maker). It's a solid unit if you want a silent PSU and would be more than plenty for a single 760.

Regarding the cost of the Hale90. Since the four Corsair fans you are getting are like £15, couldn't you put a hold on those fans? I mean one of them is already almost within your set budget. You can always add them in later, whereas you would be stuck with your PSU choice.

If the TX650M is £20 less than the Hale82-M, then despite the poor connectivity I had mentioned, I would probably go with the TX650m. Where are you buying from, btw?

Edit: Can you buy from one of these places? http://skinflint.co.uk/eu/fractal-design-tesla-r2-white-650w-atx-2-31-fd-psu-ts2w-650w-a815590.html

Regarding the Hale90, yeah I guess I could although i've just noticed NZXT have released a Hale82 v2 550w which is almost identical in terms of looks & also fully modular and supposed to be around £70... if I could get that, it would tick every box tbh.

Im not limiting my buying to any specific store in all honesty, I'm a bit of a bargain hunter so will hunt for the best prices I can for each unit when I buy.

I guess my first choice will be the TX650M unless I can find this new NZXT hale82 v2 in white.

Thank you for all your help, its much appreciated!

Edit: I looked at the link, great prices but comes up to £85 when shipping to UK... will keep a note of it though, Thanks

Ah, I forgot about the Hale82v2. It's internally different from the original (it's made by Highpower). There isn't a review that I know of it yet, so I can't really say anything about it.

In case, you missed my edit, here's the Tesla R2 650w. http://skinflint.co.uk/eu/fractal-design-tesla-r2-white-650w-atx-2-31-fd-psu-ts2w-650w-a815590.html

Also, since you said, you weren't able to find the Seasonic G in the UK. http://www.scan.co.uk/products/450w-seasonic-g-450-modular-80-plus-gold-eps-12v-12cm-silnt-fan-atx-psu

Anyways, I have to go now. Good luck with your purchase!
