So as in my previous thread turns out one of the fans of my 7870 is done for: http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/408034-asus-directcu-ii-7870-fan-broke/

I've since disconnected it, and it's running on the one fan that isn't broken. However the fan that does still work is further away from the GPU. It idles at around 52c (only 2c higher then it did before) and in GTA V or COD:AW gets to about 80c (5-10c higher then it did before)... is 80c under load fine for a 7870? It's still running at stock clocks so underclocking is a possibility. It's also not very often that demanding games get run on it anyways. I don't imagine it being too much of a worry but just wanted to make sure.

Take off the current fans and shroud and strap on a some Noctua fans on it  :D

80C under load is still ok I wouldn't want it to go higher like 85-90C, That being said I did have a 5870 and it would push up into the 90C during long periods of intensive loads.
