So, i got a R9 295x2, and a AX 1500i PSU. I live in a cold country. Add all this up and what do you get?

PERFECT CONDITIONS FOR OVERCLOCKING IT!!!!!!

Zomg, so, atm its stable at 1100MHz core and 1325MHz memory with no manual voltage increases, although, the major question people may ask themselves is this. How hard can this be on my powerbill?

well, on stock settings, in valley, it tops out at 510.5W for whole system.... now behold, my new system "peak" load, of 718W....

So, anyone else been overclocking their 295x2's????? Or am i the only one crazy enough to do it?

Holy shit 718W? Mine can't even pass 400W. Perks of living in a cold country though! Here I can go crazy on my OC in the winter not year round...  :(

well, i cannot push it much further with summer temps around 13-17 Celcius during evenings and 23-25 during day, as even with evening temps, im hitting 74C on one of the GPUs, 75C is the hardcoded limit, so it will thermal throttle if i push it much further. BUT, come winter and i get -5 to -15 Celcius, having my PC directly below my bedroom window.... Yeah, ill run it nose first into the ground.

summers here my GPU gets up to 81c, Winter on the other hand (if I open the window) doesn't past ~60c. (which means my GPU fans don't spin under full load lol)

Summers get up to about 30c and winters to about -30C

well i found my limit, without voltage increases, i cannot get past 1400 Memory and 1100 Core. However, it still hasnt thermal throttled. It sits at 68-69C, so i have a few degrees left, even with summer temps.

Original score, Valley

3440x1440

Ultra

8x AA

Score: 2421

Avg FPS: 57,9

Min FPS: 26.9

Max FPS: 114.8

Score with 1100MHz core and 1400MHz memory

3440x1440

Ultra

8x AA

Score: 2617

Avg FPS: 62.5

Min FPS: 27.5

Max FPS: 127,4

So yeah, thats my limit before adding voltage too it.... but given how thirsty it is, thats not a good idea.

Just going from 1325 on the memory to 1400 added another 15W to system usage.... so i went over 730W total system use... which is about 55% of my PSUs capacity...

a small update.

In 3 hours, ill have performance numbers for The Witcher 3 and Far Cry 4 before and after OC....

Also, anyone know a place to get custom bios's, alternatively, how to write your own/edit existing bios?

If i can get rid of the 75c thermal limit and increase it to say.... 80-85C, then i should be able to get it up to around 1150-1200 core...

May need to change the radiator fan... considering to buy a Noctua NFF12 IPPC fan for some overkill airflow.
