I have seen lots of people RECCOMENDING G2A for Windows, on this forum. Windows 8.1 Pro costs £15 there, while it is £50 everywhere else. Is this a scam? If not, how does it benefit them/what are they getting from you other than small amounts of money?

Kind of. You usually get a key that will activate but it may not be legitimate (like de-activated from somebody's PC).

My account is almost entirely dormant. Hope you all are having a grand time. Many years of fun were had here.

I personally never had problems with them, but there are people who did so it's your call, I would go for it personally and use PayPal since you can easily get a refund.

Incorrect. If the key stops working after a few months, you can't get a refund. I believe disputes only work for 2 weeks after your purchase

If you're gonna buy a key from a key reseller, you might as well buy one from /r/microsoftsoftwareswap. I'm not saying that all the keys there are legit, or that they aren't MDN keys (I haven't bought any keys from anyone on the site), but I would trust them more than G2A.

"LTT's official.."STOP. I promise you aren't LTT's official bagel eater or whatever. Trust me.

I bought a Windows 7 key on G2Play.net which after about 6 months suddenly was marked as illegal. I asked around and it seems that they have been selling MSDN keys, which isn't legal to use if you yourself don't have MSDN.

If you look up the windows licensing terms, it's clearly stated there that selling only the key, without the 'sticker' is deemed illegal.

The keys are legit. your usage of them will not be (they will be ex vlk or ex education keys).

just against the terms of use/license, nothing illegal. that being said if it is for personal use you should be fine, haven't herd of ms auditing consumers, businesses are a different story.

The question was if g2a was legit or not. Answer is yes, it's legit and it works.

Only if you are complying with the licencing agreement in this case. In 6/12 months time when MS invalidates your keys, you will have no recourse through MS hence the not legit part.
