might as well get a 280 over a 380 I dont follow AMD but I think the gains are largely considered not worth it.

I figured I should may as well go with the 380 since my original plan was to go with a 960, and I hear the 280 overheats.

I figured I should may as well go with the 380 since my original plan was to go with a 960, and I hear the 280 overheats.

Only reference 200 series cards would get hot and thermal throttle, they don't overheat they just turn down performance.

And that was ONLY the ones with reference coolers witch are almost impossible to find, any aftermarket cooler will not have problems (except the ASUS DCII on the 290/290X).

I assume you mean video editing? If it's every now and then, an i5 will do just fine. However, if the editing becomes mroe intensive, an upgrade to an i7 might not be a bad idea. Just a thought to consider for down the road.

I would consider a higher quality PSU, an EVGA 550/650GS would be a good alternative. Always look at sites like JonnyGuru or HardOCP for PSU reviews. The PSU is the most important part of any build, and skimping out on the PSU can damage your components and even be a fire hazard.

Other than that, looks good. Have fun building.

280X and 380 are good cards and they are about the same just avoid 280 and 960 unless they are cheaper!
