Building a system for my girlfriend, for her birthday. Only part I need now is a power supply. Since its basicly the same system that I have, I am looking to find a modular equivalent to my power supply. Power supply link below to what I have, looking for something equivalent. Brand isn't important to me except that they be reliable and have decent customer service. Want on or about the same wattage but modular with 80plus bronze or better. Build at bottom. Thanks guys!

i kinda wanna go outside topic a bit, and warn about the seagate 3TB drives, i hear a lot that there *may* be something wrong with them.

better safe than sorry i guess...

I have heard the same, however in this instance, I already had the drive from a previous build as it was a hand-me-down from an older brother. It will be a data drive for steam games and not much else, and I do regular backups of any important files. I had one die on me a year ago and seagate replaced it, so ive been super careful about it since then. Thanks for the warning though.

as for the power supply, i'm personally very happy with my corsair RM750, and my girlfriend is very happy with her corsair RM650.

they're a bit in an odd supply right now it seems, as they're renewing the RM series.

Okay I will look at those. I also found this on amazon for a reasonable price, but don't know enough about PSU to know if its inferior in some way

The RM750 seems to be a solid price for decent noise reduction and more connections. So that is gonna be the one I go for unless someone else suggest something else I like better. Thank you.

Semi modular but i notice these have been going for lower prices and they seem to be very highly thought of (linus uses them in the Editing PC's at his office i believe)

also jonnyguru gives it a good rating too http://www.jonnyguru.com/modules.php?name=NDReviews&op=Story6&reid=383

or if you have to have full modular

or

Both are are rather awesome too :).

Don't go for the CX750, it's kind of a crud PSU, and i'm not too sure on the older RM series (i hear the RMi is better)

Well I hope I'm not too late because the RM-series is WAY overpriced for the quality of what you get...

I suggest Antec's High Current Gamer series as well as EVGA's GS series if you're on a bit of a budget. Regardless they are still great for the money.

My account is almost entirely dormant. Hope you all are having a grand time. Many years of fun were had here.

I wont buy anything until I get paid late next week, so no not too late. I like the look of Cooler Master V750. Gold for the same price and semi modular is good enough. I will look into Antec and EVGA's GS sets and see if anything stands out.

Check out the PSU whitelist I made in my sig before buying a PSU :) If it doesn't check out with that list then comment on the thread or PM me so I see that you need help.

Im also liking the look of the EVGA Supernova 750GS. Seems to be totally modular and have alot of good reviews and ratings. I also trust EVGA in brand terms, at least for GPU.

That is a freaking solid power supply. If you can afford it then you can't go wrong with it.
