So I just saw this game pop up on Steam called Space Hulk and it's set in the Warhammer 40k universe an it looks really cool, it has turn based strategy gameplay and is supposed to feel like the tabletop games.

I never played the table top and I never played the RTS 40k games but Space Marine was a really fun game and I think this looks awesome.

Thoughts?

It's not Pokemon or FF turn based it's Xcom tactical tile based turn based, a lot like Fire Emblem.

I agree though RPG's that are turn based blow imo (except Pokemon)

If I ever see turn-based I put the game back on the shelf and look for an actual game lol. I did play some of the Dawn of War games and enjoyed those but I just feel like this will be a flop.

I would be on the skeptical side since it will be on IOS. I like strategy games, but my preference is RTS. Strategy is an odd genre since the casual and more normal  style keep trying to be mixed by game devs.

Pokémon is a jRPG and turn based combat pretty much is what defines the genre.

You know space hulk is a remake of a 1993 video game ?

And making is a really in depth turn based game is the best way to do it, I play tabletop warhammer 40k and this is how your really play.

The Dawn of war games are also great games but these move away from the warhammer play style in favor of a more conventional RTS, Space Hulk is a true warhammer 40k video game if there ever was one.
